THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
I grew up in a small village near Trier, the oldest town of Germany (very close to France and Luxembourg) and this place definitely is "the middle of nowhere". It's located in a valley, with a river, grape vines wherever you look and just one single road to reach the rest of the world.
Sounds like a very idyllic place, doesn't it? And that's what it is! It's a real paradise if you like wine, motorcycle tours or mountainbiking (not to forget these amazing sunsets). Just have a look at the photo gallery and let me show you some of my favorite places.
Places where you can rest for a while, think or listen to some music while you're enjoying that amazing view over the whole valley...
SAVE MY LIFE
When my school time was over I absolutely didn't know what to do with my life. So (with the inspiration of one special person - THANK YOU!) I decided to start working as a paramedic for the German red cross and learn a bit more about "life". I did that job for exactly 5 years and when I look back at that decision I can say it was a good one (probably the best one I've ever made), because this job tought me so unbelievable much - a crazy experience I will never forget!
During that time I had the amazing chance to meet almost all kind of people. Some became good friends of mine and others affected my life in different ways, they have been good examples how to really live a life in a good way or showed me how better not to do this.
GEEKS EVERYWHERE!
In parallel to my work I also studied computer science at the university of applied science in Trier. Working for the German red cross was a great experience, but it's definiteliy not a job I wanted to do for the rest of my life (that job gives a lot, but sometimes it takes even more).
But why computer science? The answer: I don't really know! To be honest I have never really fit into this computer geek cliché, but I like the way you can express your creativity with that stuff. How you can create something out of nothing which entertains people for a while or even fascinates them. So I wanted to give it a try...
After some semesters of always being much to late, having breakfast during the courses and trying to confuse my professors in every possible way, I finally wrote my thesis and became an official IT-clown. Yay! Doing things my way doesn't mean I don't take them serious!
A NEW CHAPTER
What the hell is a "test engineer"? That's the question I asked myself when I read the job description the very first time.
I don't want to bore you with details, so in short this is a job where you try to break things created by others. Without a doubt that's the perfect job for me...haha. At least that was the comment of some of my friends and yes, I guess they're pretty much just right with that!
THANK YOU!
I would like to thank some people who pulled me through hard times or influenced my life in a certain way:
Miss P. - thank you sooo much for all your inspiration
Ashley - it has been such a crazy experience to help you with that book (I don't think I'll ever forget this)
Markus & Sabine - thank you for all your hospitality, I really miss you and hope you're on a better place right now...
